Victorian Gold & Black Enamel Mourning Brooch, inscribed and dated 1843. Not hallmarked, most likely 18ct or 15ct (15ct was introduced as standard in English jewellery in 1854). Fine condition. Old English script to front - 'in memory of', with small glass cover over the loved one's hair.
