19th Century Australian Cedar 2 Height Stationery Cabinet, sometimes referred to as a Blind Bookcase, converted for use as a linen cupboard, with two upper shelves and one lower shelf. Very well made. Full cedar construction and bearing a Government Crown Stamp in two places.
Very thick cedar construction makes this a very strong piece. It was quite common in the late 19th century for government to be "over-engineered" - made from thicker section timbers than necessary. (The stationery dividers removed by a previous owner.)
