19th Century Australian Cedar Two Drawer Desk, with inset maroon leather writing surface and crossbanded cedar surround, standing on turned legs. From the collection of an Australian horse racing enthusiast, the left hand drawer is carved with the letters AJC and is believed to have been used by the Australian Jockey Club which was founded in 1842.
19th century finish, retailed by Thomas Moore of 337-339 Pitt St, Sydney. Both drawers work smoothly, the desk is in good sound condition. Leather recently replaced.
